Team description

Tupou Collegeは、約1,200人が在籍する男子全寮制の学校です。太平洋諸島で最も古い学校として今年2月に創立160周年を迎え、2009年にはラグビーチームを設立して100年を記念しました。同校はトンガ中高学校ラグビー大会で複数回優勝しており、今年は4度目の優勝を目指しています。

トンガ代表チームであるイカレタヒの選手をはじめ、オーストラリア・ワラビーズで活躍するウィリー・Oやジョージ・スミスなど、国際的に認められた選手も数多く輩出しています。

Tupou College is an all-boys boarding school with an enrollment of 1,200 students each year. As the oldest school in the Pacific Islands, it celebrated its 160th anniversary this February. In 2009, the college commemorated a century of playing rugby in the kingdom. The college has held the title of Tonga Secondary School Rugby Competition Champions multiple times and aims to win it for the fourth time this year.

The school has produced numerous players for the national team, Ikaletahi, as well as internationally recognized players like Willy O and George Smith from the Australian Wallabies.

海外のチームと肩を並べ、彼らの技術や戦術に触れ、お互いや文化を学べるこの素晴らしい機会をいただき、Tupou Collegeのキャプテンとして心より感謝するとともに、光栄に思います。島にいる私たちにとって、このように日本に行けることは大変幸運でありがたいことです。トーナメント優勝を目指して皆で全力を尽くします。

As Captain of Tupou College, I am grateful and honored, for this great opportunity to joint with other school, playing together experiencing their skills, and their technique, even learning their culture, get to know each other. This is great. Coming to Japan is a blessing, to me and my brother from the island. Lastly, I and my team are preparing to win the tournament.
